Modern Cafe Curtain

We fell in love with our home for its incredible natural light—but sometimes, there is such a thing as too much sun! I needed a quick window treatment solution, so I initially tried traditional curtains. But with a row of windows lining up with a glass balcony door, they felt too heavy. When closed, they created a wall of fabric that blocked the light, closed off the space, and even made our large window ledge inaccessible. After searching for inspiration, I finally found the perfect fix—a modern cafe curtain! It’s light, airy, and blends beautifully with our home’s style while still providing privacy.

Sources & Materials:

Brass Brackets: Shade Doctor of Maine

Brass Rods: Grainger (cut to fit with a manual saw & miter box—super easy!)

Curtain Panels: I repurposed larger linen curtain panels, but you can find similar ones on Etsy.
